Internships

We are seeking interns in the following areas.

Internship areas include:

·         Youth Leadership St. Louis (YLSL) – assisting YLSL Director with Program Planning, providing support to program participants during workshops, communicating with program participants & advisors, developing curriculum & activities, attending workshops at St. Louis landmarks, and enjoying yourself! Opportunities to exercise: program design, curriculum development, evaluation design & implementation; facilitation of groups; process observation; communicating in professional networks; engaging teens; and exploring the unique aspects of the St. Louis region. This opportunity is available for the summer and 2010-2011 school year.

·         Community Policy – assisting with a citizen task force project or developing a defined product with a citizen committee, working on community engagement projects, tracking and monitoring initiatives through the legislature and news media, preparing background information on topics, performing supervised field work as required, reviewing source documents, and conducting surveys and internet research. Policy areas of focus are affordable workforce housing, educational outcomes for immigrants, and disaster preparedness.

·         Development/Events – researching funding sources, helping with donor history files, assisting with membership campaigns and individual giving initiatives, assisting with all aspects of major events, including vendors, volunteers, program, sponsors, and logistics.

·         Marketing/Communications – providing support for the marketing of programs by writing and designing communications pieces, assisting with media relations, compiling and updating FOCUS database information, and coordinating policy updates.
