Chief Financial Officer

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

The Wentzville School District is accepting applications for the position

of Chief Financial Officer. This position reports directly to the

Superintendent and is responsible for the management of all financial

affairs of the District, including financial planning and budgeting,

cost analysis, accounting, auditing, reporting, purchasing, insurance

(property and liability), cash management, debt management, construction,

facilities and purchasing.



Serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet



Serves as a member of District Finance and Bond Issue Committees



Chairs the Safety/Risk Management Committee



budget in all major revenue and expenditure areas

Develops, monitors, analyzes and maintains the District financial



bond issues

Manage the District’s debt structure and all aspects of District



on its investments

Plans the District’s cash flow and maximizes the District’s return



Develops long-range financial projections



on the financial affairs of the District

Advises the Superintendent, Board of Education and the community



bond proceeds and produces monthly report to the Board

Reviews and approves construction-related invoices paid from



projects

Manages system for financial reporting and control of construction



and data processing systems

Supervises, monitors and maintains the District’s financial accounting



staff

Supervises the Business Office, Custodial, Maintenance & Purchasing



workers’ compensation

Manages District insurance, including property, liability and



Attends all Board of Education business and budget meetings

Competitive salary and benefits

Starting Date: July 1, 2013

249 Day Contract July 1 – June 30

BASIC REQUIREMENTS



At least five years of general accounting experience



or related field

Possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting,



Hold a CPA license or a Superintendent’s Certificate



school law, finance, facilities, procurement, planning, operations

principles, and techniques

Demonstrates considerable knowledge of school administration,



duties

Verbal and written communication skills to perform job-related



Calm demeanor for dealing with the needs of students



Ability to interact with a wide variety of persons
