Special Events Internship (unpaid)

This internship is specifically designed for those entering the events industry. Qualified candidates will possess a professional, service-oriented attitude, enthusiastically performing a wide variety of tasks, including: client interaction, development, project preparation and staffing of events during business hours and after-hours. A Special Events Intern is energetic, flexible, punctual, and dependable.

Primary Responsibilities: provide efficient special events support as a liaison between the Butterfly House and accounts/clients, help coordinate major in-house events and out-of-house events (including weddings), and client correspondence. A special events intern must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays including evenings (as late as 10 pm) as this is when most events occur.

Requirements:
140 hour minimum commitment; minimum of one four-hour shift per week, not to exceed 16 hours per week (will adjust to meet school requirements)
Related coursework or experience in a related field
2.5 Cumulative GPA

High school seniors entering college in the fall are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Internship dates: (3½ months)
Summer: May – mid-August (application deadline: April 1)
Fall: September – mid-December (application deadline: July 15)
Spring: mid-January – April (application deadline: November 15)
Hours: part time/20 hours per week; full time/37.5 hours per week
