Title:                                     Part Time Merchandising Intern

Reports to:                         Director of Merchandising

 

Position Summary:            Weissman / Dancewear Solutions is a national dancewear / recital costume manufacturer and catalog retailer experiencing rapid growth.  The Merchandising Intern is responsible for assisting in the execution of merchandising strategies for both the dancewear and costume businesses, and supports the Product Design, Product Development, Purchasing, and Marketing functions through daily communication regarding merchandising issues.

 

Responsibilities:                 Data Management. Candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining product information in the Product Lifecycle Management System and other spreadsheets as well as communicating all relevant merchandising issues to other departments.  

Competitor research and analysis. Use resources (i.e. catalogs, online) to research and analyze competitor product assortment and pricing.

                                                General administrative duties: filing, copying, etc.

                                                Other projects as needed.

 

Expected Outcomes:         Meeting all internal merchandising timelines.

Ensuring that all merchandising data is correctly managed within the PLM system and spreadsheets accurately and on a timely basis.

 

Qualifications:                    Demonstrates an in depth knowledge of Microsoft office and Outlook software                                                                                                                    and a high level of accuracy in keying.

                                                Highly developed communication and interpersonal negotiation skills.
