The purpose of the Center Manager's position is to operate an early childhood education facility which promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of education, health, social and other services to enrolled children and families.
Job Responsibilities vWork synergistically with the assigned Case Manager and Child Development Specialist to assure that all required services and systems are implemented vSustain required compliance to assure that the ceter meets and/or exceeds Head Start Performance Standards, Missouri State Licensing, NAEYC Accreditation vSelect, train, and mentor staff to promote high quality services and a team approach to service delivery vAssure that systems are maintained that assure compliance with program finanical management procedures, equipment maintenance, and supplies are maintained to meet the center's needs vCreate and maintain an environment that promotes staff professionalist, parent engagement and positive child development vEstablish and promote an environment of respect and appreciation of cultural and ethnic difference among staff, parents and children
Job Requirements vGeneral knowledge of finance and budgets and how this knowledge contributes to the operation of a quality early child care setting vKnowledge of the value or creating partnerships with parents in promoting the development of the child vKnowledge of the general quiding principles of operating a high quality child care facility in accordance with NAEYC standards vKnowledge of and ability to create an environment which promotes the development of team work, respect and value for every individual vEffective verbal and written communication skills vLeadership and management skills vOrganization skills vProficiency in use of computer and date base systems vStrong working knowledge of the principles and practices of early childhood development vPrior supervisory experience in an early childhood program is required
Education Requirements vBachelors or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education OR a Bachelors or advanced degree in a related field and 10 classes in Early Childhood Education and an Infant/Toddler CDA.
