Under the leadership of the Membership Sales Director, in accordance with the Christian principles of the YMCA, the incumbent is responsible for selling memberships and programs to potential members. Provide quality service to members, customers, and the general public. He/she serves as a member of the membership sales staff that is responsible for selling memberships at the branch and quality member service, program sales, retention, and satisfaction, while exemplifying the “Y” values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Demonstrate personal sales leadership and success by achieving and exceeding daily, weekly and monthly acquisition and retention goals.
Manage client relationship through all phases of the sales cycle.
Conduct tours for potential new members using a consultative sales approach.
Provide account management and develop a client base.
Track customer information, forecasts, and reports.
Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads.
Follow sales policies and systems that support branch membership and marketing objectives.
Meet regularly with Membership Sales Director one-on-one to review weekly and monthly sales and unit goals, individual performance, and individual business plan.
Role-play, conduct shadowed branch tours, and use tools to improve and develop stronger sales and customer service skills.
Leverage Metro marketing strategy to initiate, develop and grow relationships with new and current members.
Assure compliance with all branch and department standard operating procedures.
Develop and manage local corporate wellness accounts
Respond to customer inquiries and problem solving in a professional and effective fashion while maintaining positive rapport with members, staff and volunteers and visitors.
Answer, route and resolve questions or problems via phone or in person using Listen First skills.
Provide feedback and offer solutions regarding service failures or member concerns.
Work continually towards self-development to stay current on customer service, sales, and supervisory procedures & practices.
Partner with the branch team to drive service and cross selling opportunities.
Embrace, support, and role model concepts of Listen First, Building Relationships, Member Engagement, and Healthy Lifestyles to all members.
