The Communications Associate will be responsible for researching, pitching, and preparing
(including writing, photography, video) stories that serve various purposes; preparing updated
content for the Foundation’s website; gathering content and posting content on Facebook and
Twitter; and gathering content for and writing various presentations.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field required plus 2-4 years professional experience in a
similar position. Must have demonstrated skills in writing, editing, and engaging experts internally
and externally, as well as familiarity with using photography and video in storytelling. Must be a
relationship builder, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all
levels of staff, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors and Community Advisory Council.
Program Fellows will work alongside the entire MFH Program team. Job duties include research,
writing for internal and external audiences, editing, reviewing grant proposals, outreach activities to
communities and policymakers, assisting with trainings and workshops, and gaining knowledge of
and building relationships with various organizations and agencies from around the state.
Master’s degree in health related field preferred. Knowledge of various social media tools and uses
in community engagement is preferred. Ability to research, analyze, organize and prioritize work to
meet deadlines required. Experience in using statistical analysis software is a plus. This position
will require some travel (2-3 days per month) and evening and/or weekend hours.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR, EXPANDING COVERAGE
(TWO YEAR LIMITED-TERM)
The Program Director, Expanding Coverage will be responsible and accountable for managing the
foundation’s 5-10 year investment in reducing the uninsured rate in Missouri to less than 5 percent.
The Program Director will lead a team and be directly involved in the work in a hands-on way,
including spending significant time in the community, meeting with related groups, organizations,
policy makers, service providers, grantees, experts, funders, and other groups. S/he will represe
the initiative’s activities in the community through presentations, conferences, collaborations,
partnerships, meetings with and testimony to elected officials, and in the media.
Master’s degree in health-related field preferred, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in a
leadership position, including 2 years supervisory experience preferred. A recognized, respected
professional in the field, knowledgeable about interventions, programs, policies, and what drives
success. An experienced change-maker, familiar with policy-making, persuasion, programs, people
active in the field, and how change happens; tied-into Missouri’s public policy and public health
environment. Must be a critical thinker and a team player with outstanding written, oral and
interpersonal skills. This position will require frequent travel (10 days per month) and evening
and/or weekend hours.
