Student Circulation Policies

Students, please be aware of the following information:

By knowing and following this information, you, the Fontbonne University Library patron, will greatly improve your overall experience with the library.

The Library sends messages to your Fontbonne e-mail concerning your library issues. Please check your Fontbonne e-mail at least once a week!!
  • Fontbonne ID or a driver’s license is required to check out items.

Checkout Periods:
  • Books – 3 weeks with 2 renewals (a renewal will give you another 3 weeks)
  • Videos & CDs – 1 week with 1 renewal (a renewal will give you one more week)

Please Return Items On Their DueDates!!!View your library account and renew items.

Fines are .10 per item per day (except OPTIONS Proficiency Books, which are $2 per item per day) and are charged to your university account.

After 30 days of being overdue, the library will remove the item from your student library account and bill your student university account (the account on which tuition is charged and can be paid in the business office or online) for the non-returned item.

Default prices for billed items are as follows:*
General Collection book $70 Folio (Oversized book)$120 Curriculum book $45
Juvenile Literature book $45 Video $70 CD-ROM $45
Audio CD $45 MOBIUS Book $120

MOBIUS BOOKS

  • Only books can be borrowed from MOBIUS libraries.
  • When you come across an item you want to request, always click "Display Holdings of MOBIUS Libraries" to see if a copy is currently available for request.
  • MOBIUS items arrive in 3 to 5 business days. The library will keep your requested item at the desk for 2 weeks, after which, it is sent back. If your item does not arrive after 2 weeks, talk to the circulation manager.
  • The circulation desk will no longer call you to inform you when your MOBIUS items arrive. You must view your account online to see what the status is of your items. Click "request (holds)" link.
  • If your MOBIUS book has status of:
    "Requested" or "Available"- the other library has not done anything to your request yet.
    "In Transit"– the item is between the other library and our library.
    "MOBIUS RECVD" or "READY"- the item is ready at our library for pickup.
