Library Mission StatementThe Fontbonne University Library is dedicated to the discovery, understanding, preservation, and dissemination of information and ideas. - Library personnel facilitate discovery and understanding through educational programs in information literacy, assistance in reference and research, and access to a variety of resources

Library resources are focused on student learning and faculty teaching and research. As resources permit, services are provided to Fontbonne staff and residents of the surrounding community. The Library provides an atmosphere characterized by inclusion, open communication, and personal concern. The University Library continues the heritage of the Sisters of St. Joseph by fostering the values of quality, respect, diversity, community, justice, service, faith, and Catholic presence. In keeping with these values, the Library makes available the widest possible diversity of views and expressions, including those which are unorthodox or unpopular. The Library supports the principles of the America Library Association's "Library Bill of Rights" and "Freedom to View" statements.
