Baseball players bring home SLIAC honors

May 15, 2010 - Six players from the Fontbonne University baseball team were recently awarded St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season honors.

Fontbonne seniors Josh Burlison and Josh Kraemer were named to the SLIAC First-Team All-Conference. Burlison led Fontbonne in hitting with a .434 batting average and 62 hits. He finished second on the team in runs scored (39) and RBI’s (46). Kraemer led the team in RBI’s with 57  while hitting .390. Kraemer was also named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team.

Fontbonne junior Jason Nikolaisen and freshman Sean Fischer were named to the SLIAC Second-Team All-Conference. Nikolaisen led the team in runs scored and was third in hits. Fischer, who lost a portion of his season to injury, hit .395 while leading the team in walks.

On the mound, Fontbonne junior David Willey earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. Willey had a team-high five wins with a 5.28 ERA. Willey threw the school’s first no-hitter this year. Fontbonne junior Sean Wiley was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament team.
