May 15, 2010 – The Fontbonne University softball had their season come to an end yesterday losing to Simpson College 11-0 in the NCAA Tournament Regional. The Griffins finished the season with a 24-17 overall record.
Fontbonne hurt themselves yesterday committing four errors that led to four unearned runs. Simpson’s pitcher held the Fontbonne bats quiet as the Griffins could only muster two hits yesterday.
Despite yesterday’s loss, Fontbonne had a great season. The Griffins won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006.
