Women's Softball Earns Second Highest GPA in Country

Sept. 29, 2010 - The Fontbonne University women's softball team finished second in the country in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Girls Got Game All-Academic Team Rankings for NCAA Division III schools.

The Griffins' 3.535 team cumulative grade point average finished second in the country behind only Washington University's 3.549. Fontbonne finished ahead of Emerson College (3.520), Lebanon Valley College (3.482), Amherst College (3.469), Otterbein College (3.465), Macalester College (3.465), Gettysburg College (3.448), Skidmore College (3.429) and Ithaca College (3.427).  

The Girls Got Game Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted GPAs for the 2009-2010 academic year. As a second component of the program, all submitted student-athletes who achieved a 3.50 GPA during last academic year are named as girls got game/NFCA Scholar Athletes.
