Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club
The Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club welcomes Janet Evanovich, author of “Wicked Business,” at its next book club event. The event will take place Friday, June 29, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Stages St. Louis, 111 S. Geyer Rd.
The event is free, but reservations are required. Please register online. You can also call 314-444-1827 or email cwbrennan@cbs.com, leave a name and phone number and reference the "June" book club to reserve a spot today.
Janet Evanovich is the New York Times Best-Selling author of more than 50 novels, most notably the Stephanie Plum series. “Wicked Business” is the second book in Evanovich’s ethereal Wicked Series. When Harvard University English Professor Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered, Lizzy Tucker and her partner, Diesel, take over his 20-year search for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed to be infused with the power of lust. As they get closer to finding the elusive stone, Lizzy must battle sinister forces, competition for the prize and, worst of all, an increasing attraction for Diesel.

Basketball Camp for Boys hosted by the Fontbonne University Men's Basketball Team
The Fontbonne University men's basketball program will be hositng a summer basketball camp June 11-14 for boys and girls grades 3-8. The camp will be broken down into two sessions. Session I will be from 9:30am-12:00pm for boys and girls grades 3-5. Session II will be brom 1:00pm-3:30pm for boys and girls grades 6-8.
Cost for the camp is $80 which includes a camp t-shirt, camp basketball, a written evaluation of your play, contest and game and individual instruction and interaction with the current men's basketball coaching staff and players. Bring your enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a great attitude for an exciting time at the Fontbonne University summer basketball camp!

Basketball Camp for Girls hosted by the Fontbonne University Women's Basketball Team
The Fontbonne University women’s basketball program invites girls entering grades 3-5 to join them for a fun and exciting week of learning and developing fundamental basketball skills. The camp focuses on the fundamental skills including shooting, passing, ball handling, rebounding, defense and offense.
The camp will be held June 25-28, 5:30-7:30pm in the Dunham Student Activity Center on the campus of Fontbonne University. Cost is $80 per camper which includes a free camp t-shirt and plenty of fun and instruction from the Fontbonne University women's basketball players and coaches!

7th Annual Summer Literacy Institute
The Reading-Writing Connection featuring Katherine Bomer
July 9 - 12, 2012
8:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Parkway Central Middle School
A renowned keynote speaker and literacy consultant for over twenty years, Katherine Bomer travels nationally and internationally to work with school districts, literacy coaches and individual schools on various reading and writing topics. Attendees will gain:
- Practical, classroom strategies for using writing to support reading
- Proven classroom engagements for teaching reading comprehension strategies
- Support from national speakers, area teacher leaders and colleagues
- Ideas to take back to your classroom and your school
Attendees will learn:
- Setting up the reading/writing classroom
- Using reading to support writing; using writing to support reading
- Using mentor texts as models for writing
- Encouraging independent reading
- Engaging reluctant and resistant readers and writers
- And much more!
Registration Fee: $350.00
EDU 599: Optional three hours of credit for an additional $300 ($25 application fee may apply); course includes one mandatory pre-institute session: choice of dates and times TBA in April.

Fontbonne Pep Band
Play a musical instrument and interested in being part of the Fontbonne Pep Band? Read more below.
In an effort to enhance the use of the new fight song at home athletic events and promote an overall sense of school spirit, the Division of Student Affairs is working to form a Fontbonne Pep Band. We would like to officially invite all faculty, staff and students, and alumni to take part in this new initiative. If you have an instrument tucked away in your closet or basement and have been waiting for an opportunity to bring it out of retirement, we would love to have you join as part of our pep band.
