Two Levels of Approval are Required for Submission of Grant Application:

The applicant is responsible for obtaining two levels of approval. All approvals should be in the form of a brief, one sentence statement sent by e-mail to fcc@fontbonne.edu prior to 5:00 pm, April 9, 2012.

Sample Level 1 and Level 2 Approval Statement:

I ____(Name)____________ in my role as _____(Title)_______________ have conducted a thorough review of the proposal ______(Proposal Title)___________ and deem that it is of merit, is a priority, and am willing to answer questions from the FCC regarding this proposal.

First Level of Approval:

  • Individual Student applicants must seek approval from their academic advisor as the first level of approval.
  • Applicants who represent Student organizations must seek approval of their Student Organization Advisor as the first level of approval.
  • For faculty and staff applicants, the first approval typically should be from your Department Chair or Supervisor. Applicants may not approve their own proposals. Department Chairs and Directors submitting proposals should seek approval from their Vice President.
  • Consultation should also be sought from those areas heavily involved with the project i.e., Information Technology, Mission Integration, Fontbonne Marketing, etc.

Second Level of Approval:

For all applicants, the second level of approval must be secured from the VP who has budgetary responsibility for the area for which funding is requested. Therefore, submission to the appropriate VP must be done in a timely fashion, well in advance of the grant application deadline.

The VP will thoroughly consider the project and, if granting approval, must agree to its merit and be willing to communicate with the FCC about the proposal, if necessary.
