Phi Kappa Phi, the largest, oldest, and most selective interdisciplinary honor society, invites the top 7.5% of juniors and 10% of seniors and graduate students to be members. Faculty, staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify. Members represent academic excellence, promote a community of scholars, and are eligible to compete for grants and fellowships.

Celebrating Excellence in Student Scholarship

In conjunction with our Initiation ceremony on April 29th, we hosted our annual Celebrating Excellence in Student Scholarship event. Five students displayed their academic work from 2011-2012. Prizes were awarded as follows:

First place - Kelly Doyle (Major:Mathematics for Secondary Education) for her presentation Right Brain and Left Brain: Mathematics of Tessellations

Second Place - Elizabeth Crabtree (Major:Psychology) for her presentation Job Dissatisfaction and Workplace Bullying: Developing a measure of dysfunctional workplace environments

Third place - Monica Kleekamp (Major:Speech-Language Pathology) for her presentation Falling through the Crack of the Education System: A Case Study

Honorable Mentions went to Michele Holdner (Major:Fashion Merchandising) for her presentation History of Costume - Portfolio and Leslie Martin (Major:Speech-Language Pathology) for her presentation Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) in Adults
