The Fontbonne University Future Teachers Association (FTA) is a cooperative venture of four organizations (Council for Exceptional Children, International Reading Association, National Education Association, and Pi Lambda Theta) of students committed to a career in education. Membership in FTA provides students the opportunity to meet and work with others who hold similar career aspirations as well as to assist in building a resume that indicates professional involvement. FTA provides services to children, professional development opportunities for students, and the promotion of literacy on as well as off campus. Through these activities, FTA emphasizes and promotes the principles of inclusion, diversity, community, service, and concern for others inherent to Fontbonne.
