Where am I?

Meet the FOCUS Leaders

FOCUS stands for Fontbonne Orientation Committee Uniting Students.

FOCUS is comprised of student leaders who represent the Univesity during first-year orientation activities. They help incoming students feel welcome at Fontbonne by helping create an energetic and open atmosphere. FOCUS helps coordinate and launch many of the orientation activities. During orientation, the FOCUS leaders lead small groups of first-year students in activities and various discussions. They are the main resource for the new students coming to Fontbonne University. They have undergone an intensive training process in order to better serve the first-year students.

FOCUS leaders are selected at the beginning of the spring semester.

For information on becoming a FOCUS leader, please contact Dr. Janelle Densberger at jdensberger@fontbonne.edu .

Reason why you came to Fontbonne: Fontbonne has one of the best Speech-Language Pathology programs in the midwest. The professors are great, and I also loved the small and close-knit environment that Fontbonne provides.
Best part of Fontbonne: Definitely the people. As cliche as it may sound, Fontbonne really is a family. You cannot walk across campus without seeing someone you know. Stepping off campus puts you in a vibrant and cultural city, but stepping back on provides you with the comfortable and welcoming place many students come to call home.
Advice you would give to a freshman: Get involved! The best way to meet new people is by getting involved with things that interest you. There are so many opportunities on campus. Best part of Fontbonne: The best part of Fontbonne is the sense of community. I feel so connected with so many aspects of this university. I have created many great friendships that I will never forget. The teachers are awesome! They are so welcoming when I have any questions and I don't feel intimidated in my department or any of my classes. Fontbonne is just a great place to be all around. We are all excited to have you around.
Advice you would give to a freshman: This is your opportunity to create yourself. You are finally on your own and living by your own rules. You can finally be the person you have always wanted to be. Don't be shy, put yourself out there to meet new people, get involved, and finally be YOU!
