Text Message Alert

Fontbonne University is providing a text message alert service to all students, faculty and staff. In the event of an emergency, or other situation where it’s important to reach the campus community — such as a weather closure — the school will issue a text message alert explaining the situation.

Participation in this service is voluntary; however, we strongly urge everyone to sign up. Currently, this service will only be used for emergency purposes. You will not be bombarded with routine announcements. In the future, the option to receive other “types” of messages (perhaps reminders of academic deadlines) may be offered.

How do I sign up?

It’s easy. Just complete the following steps, and you're on the list!

1. Click here to begin.
2. Fill in the form titled “Signup” on the left half of the screen.
3. This requires your First Name, Last Name, Fontbonne e-mail address, Mobile Carrier and mobile phone number.
4. Select the default “Yes, Subscribe me the mobile alerts”
5. Click the “Register” button.
6. A message with your temporary password will be sent to your Fontbonne account.
7. Return to the Fontbonne ClearText site.
8. On the right half of the screen, under “Log in now!” enter your e-mail address and temporary password.
9. You will be prompted to complete your registration by clicking “Send Verification Instructions.” Follow the instructions.
10. By default, you are part of the global message list. To join more groups, click the “Channels” tab.
11. Just below the menu bar, click “Find/Join a group.” From there, you can join any of the other define sub groups.
12. Click “Logout” in the upper right-hand corner, and you’re done.

The entire process should take no longer than ten minutes to complete.
