Girls in Science is a free summer program for middle-school aged girls that connects young women interested in science to women scientists. We have programs in Biology, Ecology, Chemistry, and Physics. Our goals for this program are threefold. First, representation matters, and we want to make sure that young women can see themselves as scientists. Second, we aim to provide a safe space for girls to experience failure, identify the problem, and improve their work. Failure is a challenge to endure, but it is also an important part of the process of science. Third, we intend to provide an opportunity for young women to experience science as the process that it is and not as the body of facts that it is so often taught to be, which we hope further enables young women to see themselves as scientists.
For all camp sessions, before and/or after care is offered for $10/session/day ($20/day for both before and after care). Scholarships are available if needed.
