At Fontbonne, you will pursue your studies in a diverse community that encourages the exploration and sharing of different perspectives, beliefs, and traditions. Fontbonne’s interdisciplinary approach to our major in Global Studies echoes the many complex layers that make up the world as a whole. You’ll study culture, geography, politics, economics, and international business, as well as religion, history, and language, taking full advantage of your liberal arts education.
The Global Studies major offers three tracks: business, culture studies, or Peace Corps Preparation. These allow you to customize your major to your specific interests and future plans. We are the only college in the St. Louis area that offers the Peace Corps Preparation program, through which we partner directly with the Peace Corps to prepare students for international service work in a sector of their choice.
Recent students have interned with Fontbonne’s own international affairs office; with Welcome Neighbor StL, a nonprofit working with refugees settling in St. Louis; and other sites that allow them to interact directly with people from around the world. We also have a strong relationship with Fontbonne’s business programs, which makes this major a great fit for people interested in fashion, finance, or commerce. With a Global Studies major, you’ll be prepared to pivot in many directions, with the world at your fingertips.
With its diverse campus, active community engagement, and easy access to the entire St. Louis metropolitan region, Fontbonne is an ideal choice if you are seeking a career with global opportunities.
