It can affect scientific discovery, social interaction, political tradition, economic practice, public health and many other areas. The field of data science has emerged to address the ongoing growth of data and the need to manage and understand it.

Fontbonne University’s Master of Science in Data Science addresses society’s need for professionals who can extract meaning from data and convey the information obtained to those who need and use the information. Beginning in August 2019, this program is available at our West St. Louis County campus. 

Program Highlights

  • Fontbonne faculty in data science regularly publish with students and collaborate with faculty from other universities, forming interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Students in the program receive training in R, SQL, Python and Machine Learning.
  • The demand for data scientists is increasing dramatically — companies and organizations of all sizes need the skills of data scientists in order to make critical strategic decisions. According to Forbes, data scientist has been the #1 job three years in a row.

Clayton Campus

Located in a beautiful residential neighborhood in the vibrant St. Louis suburb of Clayton, our original, main campus is home to Fontbonne’s administrative offices, on-campus housing, the Jack C. Taylor Library, bookstore, theater, art studio and gallery, as well as classrooms, education spaces and offices.

Focusing primarily on graduate and evening programs, Fontbonne’s new West St. Louis County campus allows Fontbonne to expand our MBA and master’s programs in accounting, leadership, computer science and supply chain management. Our West County campus will also be the home of our Ed.D program.
