Interdisciplinary Studies Department
Learning is rarely a straight and narrow process; it doesn’t color inside the lines. Sometimes we need to seek answers and solve problems by finding new approaches, breaking out of the old molds.
Tailoring your needs and interests to your major, Fontbonne’s interdisciplinary studies will show you how to do just that.
Interdisciplinary studies at Fontbonne is more than just the sum of its parts. Our one major and two minors aren’t just hodgepodge classes thrown together from across campus. Instead, we teach interdisciplinary as a fundamental orientation to the world.
We offer core courses taught by faculty in interdisciplinary studies — teachers who know what it means to think outside the box. But the programs also allow you the flexibility to learn from experts in the traditional disciplines.
Interdisciplinary studies is an exciting place — a crossroads, yes, for people with multiple interests. But it is more: a home for some of the most original and exhilarating work being done here at Fontbonne.
