Sharon Jackson, Associate Professor and Department Chair of Social Work, presented the workshop ” Social Work Education: Competency Through Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards at the National Association of Social Workers annual symposium held April 2-5 at The Lake of The Ozarks. The Symposium is an educational event attended by professionals throughout the state.
Laura Beaver, Assistant Professor in Social Work, presented the workshop ” Etiquette’s Role in Social Work Practice” at the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Conference held March 30 through April 3rd, in Dallas, Texas. The conference is a social work education event attended by social work educators and researchers throughout the United States.
Kim Anderson, adjunct professor and coordinator of the new Fontbonne University expressive arts and integrative therapies program, will present workshops at two significant conferences this fall.
National Healthcare Decision-Making Day Featured Fontbonne Social Work Connection
The Fontbonne University social work department was a co-sponsor of the National Healthcare Decision-Making Day open house and expressive arts workshop at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield April 18, 2017.

Carolyn Compton was elected by her statewide peers to hold a position as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Social Workers – Missouri Chapter. As stated by Tamitha Price, “Balancing employment, school and volunteer activities is a delicate endeavor…[we] are very proud of our volunteers and the agencies and universities that support their efforts…” [Read her announcement.]
