Waves of Ministry
The Campus Ministry leaders are assigned to waves of ministry: community, prayer, and service. These waves gather twice a month to plan regular service opportunities, community events, interfaith opportunities, liturgies, retreats, prayer, and more. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend these meetings and contribute ideas for the entire Fontbonne community.
Regardless of religious preference, students are called together to build community through relationships with others. In creating and implementing programming for the greater Fontbonne community, students collaborate with many departments, and student organizations to offer hospitality, and community building to the entire Fontbonne community.
Rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition as a Roman Catholic institution, Fontbonne encourages students to engage in spiritual development. Students plan regular prayer on campus that fosters spiritual growth through prayer services, retreats, Mass, and other prayer opportunities.
Service to the Dear Neighbor without distinction is one of the hallmarks of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Students in the action wave work in collaboration with the Service and Justice Coordinators, a group of students leaders and the office of Service, Diversity and Social Justice to plan regular service and service immersion trips that happen throughout the year. In addition to direct service, students are encouraged to explore Catholic Social Teachings and how the Fontbonne community can be involved in social justice activities.
