Counseling and Wellness
Our students face a variety of challenges. On top of juggling school, work, family and a social life, they deal with concerns such a stress, relationship issues, homesickness, loss of loved ones or depression.
Fontbonne’s Counseling and Wellness office is staffed with licensed clinical social workers and professional counselors who provide free brief mental health counseling to currently enrolled Fontbonne students, roommates, and couples*. Additionally, we offer special programs for families.
Our counselors maintain confidentiality according to ethical and legal obligations mandated by the State of Missouri. We also provide referrals to off-campus counseling and other resources upon request.

*All counseling participants must be currently enrolled Fontbonne students. Please complete the Counseling Intake Form prior to your first appointment.

Mental Health Screening Tools
Taking a mental health screening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Following screening, you will be provided with information, resources and tools to discuss the results with a provider.
As student health and wellness is related to academic success, Fontbonne encourages student wellness – body, mind, and spirit – by providing wellness resources and activities for students throughout the academic year. Examples include the Student Health and Wellness Fair and Fitness Classes.
BOOT CAMP TRAINING
Have FUN while you improve your strength, stamina, and energy – regardless of your current fitness level. Classes are supportive and challenging with a high degree of personal attention. This class will use a variety of body weight exercises, suspension training, and calisthenics to shape and firm the body.
CORE & MORE / TOTAL BODY TRAINING
Shape and firm the entire body with this fun, supportive, and energetic workout. This “SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING” class will focus on using a variety of techniques (plyowellsmetrics, free weights, stability balls, Bosu Ball, machines, and body weight exercises) in order to maximize your efforts in creating a stronger and more lean physique. Each workout will incorporate all of the major muscles of the body, including the heart. With slight variations in form, the same exercise can be appropriate for the beginner, or challenging enough for the expert.
ZUMBA Dance the pounds away
Join the party! Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music combined with easy to follow dance-fitness moves, set to your own pace. This mixture creates a dynamic and effective cardiovascular and muscle toning workout.
