A description from the publisher: Our fathers remember baseball the way it should be. Colorful characters who played for the love of the game, fresh cut grass, rosin bags, and pine tar remind them what the game is all about. "Just Play Ball," is an insightful look at what is right with America' s pastime.
Garagiola grew up in The Hill neighborhood in St. Louis, just down the street from another baseball legend, Yogi Berra, who provides a foreward for the book. He played more than nine seasons as catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and New York Giants before becoming a popular announcer and TV personality. Garagiola also authored "Baseball is a Funny Game" and "Anybody's Ballgame."
