Fontbonne University Scholar's Lecture Series Welcomes KWMU's Dennis Owsley

The next Fontbonne University Scholar's Lecture welcomes Dennis Owsley, KWMU personality and host of "Jazz Unlimited," Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 2-3 p.m. in the Lewis Room of the Taylor Library. Owsley visits Fontbonne University to lecture on race and other issues in St. Louis jazz. The event is free and open to the public.

Owsley has been a familiar voice on KWMU (90.7) for decades. His show "Jazz Unlimited" has reached a broad audience and continues to captivate perennial Riverfront Times “Best of St. Louis” awards, most recently in 2009. His seminal book "City of Gabriels: The History of Jazz in St. Louis, 1895-1973," tracks the significance to and prevalence of this American art form in the River City.
