Fontbonne University Announces Nursing Partnership

ST. LOUIS – Fontbonne University and Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College have formed a partnership allowing students to complete their first two years of prerequisite general education coursework at Fontbonne and then transfer their credits to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

“This articulation agreement is beneficial to both educational institutions and is advantageous for students,” said Dorothy Davis, director of transfer admissions at Fontbonne. “The strong liberal arts foundation from Fontbonne emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills, while the specialty nursing courses from Barnes-Jewish College provide the nursing theory and clinical expertise to provide excellent care for patients and their families.”

With the new articulation agreement in place, students must apply and meet all requirements for admission to Barnes-Jewish College’s upper division nursing program after completing their first semester at Fontbonne with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. After acceptance, students must maintain a 3.0 for the remaining three semesters at Fontbonne.

At Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, students will complete a full-time, five-term program consisting of 66 credit hours of nursing coursework. Each school will retain its own tuition rates and separate financial aid packages.
