Alumni Honored for Achievements, Community Contributions

ST. LOUIS – Fontbonne University recently honored five alumni with the school’s annual Alumni Awards, recognizing outstanding individuals for their accomplishments and contributions to the university, to the university’s alumni association, and to their communities.

Catherine Gallas Deutsch of Oakville, a 1973 Fontbonne graduate, received the Service to the University Award. Deutsch, who earned her bachelor’s degree in English and is now a learning consultant at Ursuline Academy in St. Louis, has continually been an active alumni volunteer, and has served two terms on the alumni association board of directors.

Victor S. Wang of Ballwin, a 1990 Fontbonne graduate, received the Professional Achievement Award. Wang received both a Master of Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Fontbonne, and is now a full professor of art at the school, where he has taught for 20 years. His paintings have been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions in St. Louis, New York, Chicago and abroad, he has been featured in many articles and reviews, and he is the author of two books.
Kim Furlow of Ballwin, a 1986 Fontbonne graduate, received the Service to the Community Award. Furlow is a professional actress, singer and voice talent who continues to perform in local and regional professional theatre productions. In 2009, she and her husband founded Dramatic License Productions, DLP, which presents theatre and cabaret performances, but also offers after-school and summer drama camps for children and teens.
Craig L. Glover of Florissant, a 2001 Fontbonne OPTIONS graduate, received the OPTIONS Alumni Award. Glover earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fontbonne. He now serves as vice president, compliance and chief information officer for Grace Health Centers, Inc., and he is chairman of Confluence Academy, a five-campus charter school system in the St. Louis area.
Meghan E. Mueller of St. Louis, a 2003 Fontbonne graduate, received the Young Alumni Award. After her graduation, Mueller earned a Master of Divinity degree from Aquinas Institute of Theology. She currently works for SSM Healthcare, and she continues to actively serve as a member of Fontbonne’s alumni association.
