Alumni Named to St. Louis Business Journal’s Diverse Business Leaders List
Three Fontbonne University alumni were named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s list of Diverse Business Leaders, which was announced on Friday, Sept. 13. The university would like to congratulate alumni Sharilyn Franklin, Ph.D.; Sarajeni Hammond and Steven Parks for receiving this exciting recognition.
Franklin, ’00, MBA, is the executive director of the Consortium for Leadership Development, a local nonprofit that identifies high-potential individuals and helps them acquire the skills needed to excel in executive positions across the country.
Hammond, ’95, MBA, was recognized for her work at Emerson, where she was employed until she recently accepted a position at Monsanto. While at Emerson, Hammond was in charge of the organizational design and planning succession at their valve automation unit. She oversaw 1,500 employees in 22 countries and helped implement talent management programs.
Parks, ’05, MBA, is currently the director of diversity for Ameren. While working for Central Illinois Power in Peoria, Ill., Parks, then an engineer, led a grassroots effort to bring minorities together and address diversity issues within the company. After spearheading this effort, Parks made the jump to human resources, and when Ameren acquired the company, he continued to lead innovative diversity initiatives in Illinois and now in St. Louis.
