As the positivity rate for Covid-19 continues to rise in St. Louis County and the State of Missouri, we continue to monitor closely the current public health situation and any guidance offered by the St. Louis County Department of Public Health or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. This morning, new guidance and public health orders were issued by the county. I would recommend you consult reputable news outlets or visit the St. Louis County Department of Public Health website directly for all the details surrounding restrictions that are being put in place in St. Louis County. As far as their effect on our campus, we are enacting the following starting tomorrow, November 14, until our return to campus from Thanksgiving Break on November 30.
- For next week, the week of November 16, we will continue to offer classes as usual and as previously scheduled. Offices on campus will remain open until we close for Thanksgiving Break at the end of the day on Friday, November 20.
- Food service, starting tomorrow morning, will only be serving food as a “to go” option. We encourage diners to take food to their residence hall room, their car, or to eat their food elsewhere on campus in a socially distanced manner from others. As previously scheduled, there is no food service provided over Thanksgiving Break, the week of November 23.
- Events for next week will be limited to only those where less than 10 people would be present. Also, no event will occur where food/drink is being served, regardless of the size of the event.
- Athletic Department team activity will continue as previously scheduled and regulated by the Athletic Department.
Please continue to wear masks, social distance, and follow sanitation and personal hygiene guidance. Continue to serve the Dear Neighbor by following the appropriate health and safety protocols on campus and by immediately notifying the Campus Nurse, Carla Hagan, if experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or feeling ill. She can be reached at email@example.com.
We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation on campus and in our local community. We will update our guidance as needed but certainly as we approach our return to campus after the Thanksgiving Break. Please follow your Fontbonne email and our Covid-19 Griffin Return website for further announcements. Thank you for all you are doing to keep yourself and our community as safe and healthy as possible.
