Alumni Office Receives FCC Grant for Professional Networking Event

BobAsh

The Fontbonne University Alumni Office has been awarded a grant from the Fontbonne Community Connection (FCC) to enable them to have a fall Professional Networking event for alumni.  The FCC, a women's giving circle, comprised of Fontbonne alumni and other business friends provides grant funding each year to applicants who have a special project, event, or activity that would otherwise not be possible or go unfunded.  This year, the FCC funded 12 projects totaling $81,181.

The Alumni Professional Networking event will be held on September 18, 2014 in the Lewis Room, of the Jack C. Taylor Library.  The event will feature professional speaker Bob Ash, whose company, Life Lessons, has provided training and education on professional and personal development topics to 1,500 plus organizations and businesses.

His topic for Fontbonne will be “Change is Inevitable…Growth is Optional.”   Fontbonne University Alumni Association Board member Jennifer Millikan '96 said, “This topic is very timely as Fontbonne is undergoing many changes with a new President, and other cultural changes. Anyone who is or has experienced significant changes in the workplace, or their personal life, will really benefit from this discussion on how to embrace change and move forward.”

Bob Ash has spoken at a number of universities including Purdue and Southern Illinois, and companies like Bank of America, and the CIA. Prior to starting his company, Bob served in several different public education positions including: teacher, principal, and superintendent of schools.  For more information on Bob go to www.bobash.com

Alumni will receive invitations to this event by mail and e-card in August, or go to www.fontbonne.edu/alumnievents for more information.
