New President Offers Inspired Vision

Pressimone-portrait
On Friday, November 14, Dr. J. Michael Pressimone was officially inaugurated as Fontbonne University’s 14th president. In his inauguration address, Dr. Pressimone unveiled his exciting and compelling vision for the future.

"In order to accomplish much and meet our goals, we must be bold. We must go forward with confidence in the quality of our programs and with a clear understanding of the Fontbonne brand. We make a difference in our world, and we see proof in the work of our faculty and the accomplishments of our students who beautifully animate exactly what 'Learn more. Be more.®' means."

#GivingTuesday is Tomorrow!

Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s your chance to join Fontbonne University’s #GivingTuesday!  On Tuesday, December 2, Brian Abel Ragen, a friend of the university, will give Fontbonne $10,000 if 150 donors give during that 24-hour period.  Over 7,000 non-profits, universities included, will participate in #GivingTuesday.  This is a national day to give back and come together to transform the way people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season.  As part of the Fontbonne family, our support is critical to the University’s educational mission. You can make your gift beginning at 12 a.m. tomorrow, December 2, until 11:59 pm that night.  Donate Here or contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 314-889-1408

Fontbonne Sponsors Junior Achievement

This month Fontbonne entered a 10 year agreement to sponsor Junior Achievement. We will now occupy a space in the JA Finance Park where our Fontbonne University sign and colors will be prominently displayed as middle and high school aged students participate in activities at the Junior Achievement facility in Chesterfield. Roughly 140,000 students pass through the facility each year, so this is a great opportunity for Fontbonne to have some exposure to prospective students, while serving the community with a great organization.  For more information, contact Dr. Jay Johnson, Dean, The Eckelkamp College of Global Business and Professional Studies at jjohnson@fontbonne.edu.

Remember those in Need During the Holiday Season

During this holiday season, let us take time to reflect on our good fortune and remember those in need.  There are several opportunities that Fontbonne  alumni, students, faculty, and staff, can get involved in to help serve the dear neighbor.

1)  Gently used blankets are being collected for
Winter Outreach to keep the homeless warm. Drop
them off in Ryan Hall Room 200.
2)  The Mission and Heritage Committee invites alumni
to help prepare meals, or donate meals to the
     homeless.

There are three ways you can help:
Donate groceries or $$ to make casseroles for the homeless. See contact information
    below on what to purchase.

l Help prepare the casseroles in Anheuser Busch Hall Room 105, on Wednesday,
December 3, at 11:00 am, or Friday, December 12, at 1:00 pm.
l Serve the food at the homeless shelter, located at 5079 Queens, near Kingshighway
     and 70.

For more information on each of the these opportunities, contact Mary Beth Gallagher, Mission Integration, at 314-719-3554 or mbgallagher@fontbonne.edu.
