St. Louis company recognizes Fontbonne student
 
 
 
Fontbonne fashion merchandising major Paige Roth was the winner of the Fashion Group International of St. Louis’ 2015 Fashion Merchandising Award. Roth, a senior, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship at a ceremony held on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Clayton headquarters of Caleres, formerly Brown Shoe. This competitive scholarship is one of three awards given annually to students majoring in fashion business.

Anti-Human Trafficking Event 
 
 
 

In conjunction with human trafficking awareness month the Student Alumni Association is sponsoring a screening of the anti-human trafficking documentary Sex+Money: A National Search for Human Worth. A representative from The Covering House, a St. Louis based anti-human trafficking agency, will be present to continue the discussion after the film.

Freshman Preview Day
 
 
 

Do you know a high school student interested in becoming a Griffin? If so, Freshman Preview Day is the place to be Feb. 15. On Freshman Preview Day, all prospective Griffins will get a chance to tour campus, meet faculty and students, learn about financial aid and scholarships, check out our academic and sports programs, and enjoy lunch on us. It is a great opportunity to get a

Save the date for GOLD beer tasting
 
 
 

On Thursday, Feb.18, join Griffins of the Last Decade (graduates 2006-2016) for a beer tasting at Modern Brewery. Attendees will receive two pints of beer and food. More information will be emailed soon.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 

High school students to compete in hackathon

 

 

 

Do you know any high school students with a talent for tech? GriffinHack 2016 is Fontbonne University’s daylong hackathon competition on Saturday, Feb. 27. High school students compete for prizes through their mastery of web and app design. Each high school can enter a maximum of three teams, with each team consisting of two to four students. Prizes will be awarded: $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and snacks and beverages will be available throughout the day.
