Entrepreneurship meets action

You probably haven’t yet heard of the Fontbonne University Enactus Club. Just two years old, this new addition to the university blurs the line between student organization, honor society, experiential learning opportunity and service endeavor. Last year, the club’s eight members gave multiple presentations in front of corporate executives, held a meeting with the national Enactus president, and worked with a local restaurant owner in Ferguson, Mo., to help boost his business. And they’re just getting started.

Join the 1923 Giving Society

In 1923, a small group of Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet created Fontbonne College, now Fontbonne University. The founding vision of the college was to provide access to higher education for women. To achieve this dream, it took immense courage, dedication and financial sacrifice. CSJs worldwide responded to a request to give as much as they could so Fontbonne could come to fruition – even long after many of their lifetimes.

The college began with a class of six students and nine faculty. Nearly 100 years later, Fontbonne College became Fontbonne University with more than 17,000 alumni and annually enrolls approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students taught by 230 professors and instructors. Inspired by the story of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1923, the 1923 Giving Society program is a way to keep the funding flowing in order to maintain, rejuvenate, improve, and expand the education at Fontbonne University.

Membership in the 1923 Giving Society is open to supporters who commit to giving $19.23 or more per month for a minimum of 12 months.
