| J. Michael Pressimone Named 14th President |

J. Michael Pressimone has been selected to serve as the 14th president of Fontbonne University, effective July 1, 2014. He will succeed Dennis C. Golden, president of the university since 1995.
Currently, the vice president of advancement at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa., Pressimone has served in various roles in education and higher education for 33 years. Read more.

| Department of Environmental Sciences Changes Name. Celebration on June 27. |

We are pleased to announce that the Department of Human Environmental Sciences will be changing its name to Family and consumer Sciences effective July 2014. The change in department name will align the department with the overarching national organization, American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). This is also most appropriate given the addition of two new undergraduate programs/degrees to the department: Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion and Bachelor of Science in Family Policy and Advocacy. Given the addition of these two programs along with the long-standing programs of dietetics and family and consumer sciences with teacher certification,, the department name change will provide clarity of purpose to constituents both internal and external to the uniersity, to prospective students and other Family and Consumer Sciences professionals. To kick-off the department name change, we invite you to join us for a celebration on June 27th, 2014 from 4:30-6:30 pm on the Fontbonne Campus.
