Get Energized in 2014

What if one night positively altered the course of your life?
What if one night strengthened your relationship with God and provided hope that the best is yet to come?
This night is Sunday, February 16th.
Join us to experience the incredible lifestory of international speaker and burn survivor, John O'Leary at Fontbonne University.
John is proof of the power of the human spirit-and the power of prayer. As a nine year old, he was burned on 98% of his body. He was given less than a 1% chance to survive. He has since survived and thrived-as a college graduate, business owner, hospital chaplain, husband and father.
On Sunday, February 16th, John will present his keynote, Be the Light: Shining with Faith. With emotional story-telling and great humor, John will invite you to discover your ability to overcome obstacles, develop a deeper faith and experience real joy. John has shared his message with over 1,000 organizations in 42 states and 8 countries.

This past December 3rd, thousands of non-profits--universities included--participated in the National Giving Tuesday Program. This program is held the Tuesday after Cyber Monday to encourage participants to give back to the organizations they love and support, like Fontbonne! An anonymous donor agreed to give Fontbonne $10,000 if we could secure 100 donors to give back to Fontbonne in a 24 hour period.  No amount was too small.  Thanks to the overwhelming support of alumni, current students, faculty, staff, parents and friends, we were able to exceed our #Giving Tuesday goal! 195 donors contributed to Fontbonne in that 24 hour period. We are grateful for your support of this first ever campaign! To learn more about giving back to Fontbonne, contact Angela Ness at 314-889-1408 or by email at aness@fontbonne.edu.

New Cyber Security Degree

Fontbonne is educating future leaders that will be at the forefront of technology and leadership through a new bachelor's degree program in Cyber Security. Currently Fontbonne is one of only two universities in Missouri offering this degree program.
The World Wide Web has made the world more interconnected. "Because of the critical importance of cyber security in today's world, Fontbonne had to develop a program that truly helped students understand the computer science behind cyber threats," said Yi Yang, Fontbonne's cyber security program director, who holds a doctorate in computer science and engineering from Penn State. "Our program will teach students to examine the weaknesses associated with database systems, web aplications and operating systems, how to find them, and how to recover corrupted data when systems are compromised."  Read more.

At this time, we are looking to create a database of all members with the Fontbonne Community that have already been inducted into various ODK Circles throught the nation. Please contact Joel Hermann at jhermann@fontbonne.edu for more information and to share your connection with this organization.
