Fontbonne University is a four-year coeducational Catholic institution founded in 1923, and still sponsored today, by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Located in Clayton, Mo., - in the heart of the St. Louis metropolitan area - Fontbonne offers liberal arts, professional and adult programs to some 3000 students annually. This is an institution where diversity and inclusion are embraced, where open communication and personal concern are encouraged. Fontbonne provides an optimal setting for learning where the academic emphasis is on teaching and scholarship. Professors devote their time to creating and delivering a curriculum that best serves our students. And our desirable 14:1 student-faculty ratio creates ideal opportunities for discussion, individual instruction and personal attention. Students may choose from 35 undergraduate majors, 25 minors and 15 master's degree programs. Fontbonne has a dynamic, active and involved student body. A 38 percent minority/international student population provides a welcome diversity and a global dimension to the school. We attract students from around the world, including Asia, Central America, and Europe. Fontbonne is also a great choice for adult learners with our OPTIONS program, and for those who want to transfer from other colleges and universities. Fontbonne is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
