Graduate School Grants and Scholarships

What types of funding are available for graduate students?

Alumni Discount

Students who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Fontbonne and are pursuing a graduate degree at Fontbonne are eligible for the Alumni Discount. Discounts are awarded in the amount of 15% each semester. Discounts are not eligible to be stacked with other discounts.

Corporate Partnerships

All Corporate Partnerships are established for a 20% discount for the current employee, spouse, and child with any of Fontbonne’s official corporate partners. To receive a 20% discount, please verify your employment by submitting this form each semester. To establish a Corporate Partnership, contact the Director of Corporate Engagement in the Office of Advancement. Discounts are not eligible to be stacked with other discounts.

Deaf Education and Speech-Language Pathology Grants

Student pursuing a Master of Arts in Deaf Education, a Master of Arts in Early Intervention in Deaf Education, or a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology may qualify for grant funding to support their education opportunities at Fontbonne University. Differential Tuition

Educator Discount

In appreciation of the services offered to our community by educators at all levels, Fontbonne University offers a scholarship to qualified individuals enrolled in graduate coursework. Qualified educators include those who work at least half-time in a nursery school, pre-K-12 school system, or post-secondary institution. Some academic support partnerships may also qualify. Proof of employment must be provided yearly. Discounts are awarded in the amount of 15% each semester. Discounts are not eligible to be stacked with other discounts. Friends and Family Referral Program

Current graduate students who refer new graduate students to Fontbonne University will receive a $500 Friends and Family scholarship for each semester (fall/spring) during which both students are concurrently enrolled as graduate degree-seeking students.

Eligibility

  • The referee must first complete two semesters (fall, spring, or summer).
  • Students are eligible for this discount in addition to any educational or alumni scholarship.
  • Students are eligible for this discount in addition to any corporate or military discount.
  • The referral must be noted on the incoming application of the referred student prior to admittance. Scholarships will not be retroactively applied.
  • Students are eligible as long as both the referral and referee are both concurrently enrolled. Students who make a referral for the semester in which they are graduating will be compensated monetarily.
  • Students making the referral must be seeking a graduate degree and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester to qualify.
  • Speech-Language Pathology students are eligible to receive this scholarship, but referrals to the Speech-Language Pathology program do not qualify as a referral.
  • Students serving as Graduate Assistants or Grant Recipients are not eligible.
  • Students who were previously enrolled as a graduate student or graduated from FBU graduate programs are not eligible.
  • Students enrolled in a BJC cohort or Pathways cohort at the discounted tuition rate are only eligible to receive a $250 scholarship with the same criteria as mentioned above.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant

The TEACH grant is federal grant for eligible students pursuing degrees in education with the requirement to teach in a high-need field in a low-income area. If students do not meet the career requirements post graduation, the grant will turn into a loan. Refer to studentaid.gov for more details. Eligible students may receive up for $4,000 per year.
