English Language Proficiency

All international applicants are required to provide official proof of proficiency in the English language in one of the following ways:

Option 1: Admission with Test of English

Applicants whose first language is not English must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score to be considered for full-time undergraduate or graduate study. Other tests of English will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Requirements:

  • TOEFL: Undergraduate min: 65 (internet-based TOEFL); Graduate min: 71 (internet-based TOEFL)
  • IELTS: Undergraduate min: 5.5; Graduate min: 6.0
  • Duolingo: Undergraduate min: 90; Graduate min: 95
  • Completion of English composition one at a U.S. college or university

Please note that some programs may require different English scores.

Option 2: Admission Without Test of English

International students seeking undergraduate admission that do not have a TOEFL or IELTS may apply for admission into the ESL course.
