Scholarships for International Students

There is no additional application required to apply for an international scholarship. By submitting the international application, undergraduate and transfer students are automatically considered for a scholarship*. Students sponsored by their government will not be considered for scholarships.

International Undergraduate Scholarships

Fontbonne University offers merit-based scholarships to academically talented, F1 visa holding, undergraduate (bachelor’s degree) international applicants. The scholarship amount is applied to the student’s account in two equal installments in the fall and spring semesters. Scholarships are renewable each year, but students must maintain the minimum grade point average stated on the scholarship contract.

Scholarships for First-Time Freshmen

All scholarships are determined based on the student’s GPA, English scores and standardized test scores, if applicable. The following scholarships are available:

  • Superior Global Academic Scholarship – $15000
  • Exceptional Global Scholarship – $10000
  • Academic Global Scholarship – $6500

International Catholic High School Scholarship

Requirements: 

  • Student must have attended a Catholic High School in their home country and be enrolling as a first-time freshman
  • Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA at Fontbonne University for automatic renewal
  • Student must submit proof of attendance at a Catholic high school when applying through the Office of International Affairs

Award details: Student receives $2,000 USD per year. Renewable. Can be added to Global Griffin Award.

Scholarships for Transfer Students

Students without the equivalent of an Associate’s Degree qualify for the following scholarships.

2.0-2.49 GPA: $3,000 USD
2.49-2.99 GPA: $5,000 USD
3.0-3.49 GPA: $6,500 USD
3.5-4.0 GPA: $8,500 USD

Top Transfer Scholarship 

Requirements: 

  • Student must be transferring from a University or college within the United States
  • Student must have the equivalent of an Associate’s Degree (AA, AAS)
  • Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

Award details: Student pays only $15,000 USD for each remaining year. If student has less than 15 credit hours completed, they are considered a first-time freshman and are eligible for freshman awards (see above for details).

 

*If reapplying to the university, scholarships will be reevaluated.
