Health insurance regulations in the United States can be complex, and medical costs are very expensive. That’s why every Fontbonne student is required to have health insurance and the appropriate, state-regulated vaccinations.
Fontbonne University requires all international students on F-1 visas to enroll in the university international student health insurance plan. (Exceptions are made for those students who have health insurance sponsored and provided by their home country’s government.)
Immunization/vaccinations and health screenings are very important to keep our university community and the public at large healthy. Please read below for information on health insurance and immunization/vaccinations required at Fontbonne University.
All international students must have university health insurance.
Costs for 2020/2021 Academic Year: $1,600

All students must have the following immunizations/vaccinations:
If you do not receive the required vaccinations, you will not be allowed to attend classes for the current semester. If you do not attend classes, your immigration record will be negatively affected.
Location of the Campus Nurse’s Office will be provided at orientation. Costs for the Meningococcal Vaccine, MMR Vaccine, and Tuberculin Screening (TB/PPD) will be provided at orientation.

If you are a Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) student, SACM provides you with health insurance. You MUST show proof of your status with SACM in order to be waived from university health insurance. The SACM guarantee must be presented within the first four weeks of school for fall and spring terms. Presenting this guarantee earlier will prevent insurance charges.
Absolutely NO exceptions.
You still must obey all the vaccination requirements regardless of your insurance provider.
Information on all immunizations can be obtained by contacting the Campus Nurse by calling 314-889-4784 or by email, nurse@fontbonne.edu.
