BJC HealthCare Partnership

BJC HealthCare and Fontbonne: an Educational Partnership

Spouses and children are eligible!

As an employee of BJC HealthCare, you want the best for your patients. And as an institution of higher education since 1923, we want to provide the best education possible for those who are serving a world in need.

Highlights

  • Eligible employees, spouses and adult children will enjoy a 20% discount to tuition.* See current tuition rates here. NOTE: when using a corporate discount, no other scholarships or discounts can be applied.
  • Concentrations of management and supply chain are available within a degree or as a stand-alone track.
  • Terms begin in January, March, May, July, August and October.
  • Each course lasts eight weeks.
  • Online classes provide flexibility; log on when it’s convenient for you.
  • No GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) required for most graduate programs (exceptions: Accounting and MBA in Accounting).
  • New undergraduate Business Administration cohort program specially designed for BJC HealthCare employees.
  • Unique graduate degree emphasizing Health Communication Studies for healthcare providers in a variety of disciplines.

*Tuition is subject to increase each academic year in the same percentage as Fontbonne’s regular tuition. Credit hour rates will maintain equivalent discount if tuition increases. Tuition discount applies to part-time evening/online programs. The discount cannot be considered for full-time enrollment in a traditional day program. Traditional day students typically receive financial packages that far exceed the tuition discount opportunity. Applicants cannot receive both the tuition discount and the full-time financial package. Advisors will advise on the option that is the most beneficial for the student based on enrollment status.

Degree Completion

Local BJC HealthCare employees – and their spouses and adult children – may enroll in undergraduate courses offered in face-to-face, online or blended (features both online and face-to-face instruction) formats at the approved 20% discount to complete the core requirements of a bachelor degree program.

BJC HealthCare applicants in other states, where approved, may take undergraduate courses online under the 20% discount to complete core requirements of a bachelor degree program.

It is understood that non-local BJC HealthCare applicants needing to complete general studies as part of an undergraduate program, may take these required courses at a regionally accredited school as they are not offered online at Fontbonne University but will be evaluated upon admission to determine if they are transferable.

Currently enrolled undergraduate BJC HealthCare applicants must receive prior authorization from their Fontbonne advisor to take courses at institutions other than Fontbonne to ensure that credits are transferable.

Undergraduate Cohort

Fontbonne University is pleased to offer an undergraduate cohort program specially designed for BJC HealthCare employees. The Eckelkamp College of Global Business and Professional studies at Fontbonne has designed an undergraduate cohort model that would benefit the employees of BJC.

This comprehensive plan will allow students to choose from three majors along with general education requirements. Earn a degree in business administration, healthcare management or for those who have many credit hours but no degree – BA in General Studies with a concentration in business administration!

  • Three great program offerings: business administration, healthcare management or general studies with a concentration in business administration
  • Along with studies that will help expand your global view, you’ll come away equipped with skills and techniques that you can use on the job immediately.
  • Fontbonne faculty are experienced, passionate professionals who are dedicated to your individual success.
  • Our support for you doesn’t end when you graduate. You’ll be part of a strong alumni network and have continued access to our Office of Career Development.
  • Classes will be held at the BJC Learning Institute at 8300 Eager Road, St. Louis, MO 63144.
  • BJC will pay tuition, fees and books (if you use a Fontbonne book voucher) minus any non-payback aid, i.e. Pell Grant, Access MO Grant, etc.
  • Tuition is a flat $350 per credit hour.

Our schedule for this offering is as follows:

  • Terms begin in January, March, May, July, August and October.
  • Eight-week classes will meet one night a week for four hours each.
  • Sixteen-week classes will meet one night a week for two hours each.
  • There is an online/outside-of-class component to each course.
