Fall 2017-Spring 2018 Application Information

The Department of Residential Life here at Fontbonne University is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for University holidays. For answers to your questions, contact a staff member in the Residential Life office at ResidentialLife@fontbonne.edu or 314.889.1422.

Application Steps

1. Read about the three types of housing available on and off campus, as well as the varying room and board rates.

2. To confirm your enrollment and your desire to live in on-campus housing, the deposit amount is $300. Of this amount, $100 is credited to your account in your first semester of enrollment. $200 serves as a residence hall security deposit.

OR pay through the Business Office (call 314.889.1405). NOTE: The housing contract and security deposit holds a space not a particular building, floor, room, or roommate.Consideration is given to every request.

3. Complete and submit the appropriate Application Contract and Medical Form:

On Campus Housing Application Contract
Complete for Medaille, Southwest, and St. Joseph’s Hall. Used for both new and returning residential students.

Off Campus Housing Application Contract – Off Campus housing is approved for graduates and undergraduates who are 21 years and older. This contract is for ONE semester ONLY (spring semester 2018). University off-campus sponsored housing program will end as of 7/12/2018. No new fall 2018 housing applications will be accepted for this off campus university facility.

* The housing application contracts are for a full academic year (fall and spring semesters) with the exception of Cotta Hall which is for the Spring 2018 semester only. The housing application contract, medical form, and housing security deposit must be received by the Residential Life office before a housing assignment can be made.

4. University required immunizations are required for ALL first time residents and international students in university housing. A completed Medical History Form  with the required immunization records must be included with your application. If you do not comply, it will jeopardize your housing application. Send completed medical form and immunization records to the Campus Nurse.

5. Review our residence hall community agreements.

New International Students

Living on campus allows you to experience American life first-hand. You will find our residence halls are well-equipped, comfortable, and a great way to make fast lifelong friends. Apply early for On Campus and Off Campus housing.

Please note that specific housing requests are not guaranteed, even if applications are received before your arrival. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received.

• Bachelors Program with ESL: On Campus Housing Application Contract
Contract is for the full academic year (fall and spring semesters).

Masters Program with ESL:  Off Campus Housing Application Contract – Off Campus housing is approved for graduates and undergraduates who are 21 years and older. This contract is for ONE semester ONLY (spring semester 2018). University off-campus sponsored housing program will end as of 7/12/2018. No new fall 2018 housing applications will be accepted for this off campus university facility.

Airport Shuttle for International Students Living in University Housing

Free Airport Shuttle Service-ONE DAY ONLY.

From Saint Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) to Fontbonne University on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 for new international students living in university housing.

New International Students must reserve a pick up time and seat on shuttle by December 15, 2017. Complete and Submit the Airport Shuttle Request Form.

If you arrive in St. Louis before the residence halls are open, YOU must arrange your own transportation from the airport to a local hotel for a room.

• Sheraton Clayton, contact Hotel Reservation Manager. Shuttle service from the airport to hotel.

• Cheshire Inn, contact Reservation Manager.

• Marriott Spring Hill Suites, 1231 Strassner in Brentwood, MO, 63144.

• Holiday Inn Forest Park, Phone: 314.645.0700.

• Holiday Inn Viking, Phone: 314.620.2149. Airport pick up available.

Taxi Service

An airport taxi to Fontbonne University may cost approximately $50 USD. Many people find the taxi service to be reliable in the U.S. Taxis can be found on the garage level outside of the baggage claim area.

The official address of Fontbonne University is 6800 Wydown Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63105. However, ask the taxi driver to take you to the back parking lot off Big Bend Blvd., on the east side of Medaille Hall under the overhang. OR ask the taxi driver to call Public Safety for directions, 314.889.4596.

Immunization Information

The Required Immunizations below can be received from the Campus Nurse. Appointments are usually necessary. Call the Nurse at 314-889-4784. If no answer, contact Student Affairs to make an appointment, 314-889-1411.

• Tuberculin Screening (TB/PPD) – This 2 part screening that CAN NOT be received outside the United States and WILL NOT be accepted if received outside the United States.

• Meningococcal vaccine – This is for meningitis and can be received in your country.

• Mumps vaccine – The MMR vaccine of mumps, measles and rubella is acceptable and can be received in your country.

Notify the Campus Nurse at 314-889-4784 if you need any of these vaccines on campus. Your student account is charged for each vaccine you receive. Prices are determined at a later date and could change without notice.

If you receive the mumps and meningococcal vaccine at home you must receive them by the dates below.

• SPRING semester – receive by November 10

• SUMMER session – receive by April 10

• FALL semester – receive by July 10

Documentation must be in English and received in the Department of Residential Life as soon as you arrive at Fontbonne University. If you do not have proof of the Mumps and Meningococcal vaccines, you can receive them from the campus nurse when you receive the Tuberculosis screening.

IMPORTANT:

• Failure to receive the required immunizations or submit documentation from your country jeopardizes your housing but does not alleviate your contract responsibilities with Fontbonne University Department of Residential Life.

• Students will not be allowed to register for classes in the following semester if the required vaccination documents are not provided.

• If you do not receive the required vaccinations, you will not be allowed to attend classes for the current semester. If you do not attend classes, your immigration record will be negatively affected.

April 15 – deadline for interim/summer housing application contract, housing security deposit, medical history form with immunization information due in the Department of Residential Life.

May 1 – deadline for fall semester housing application contract, housing security deposit, medical history form with immunization information due in the Department of Residential Life to receive priority housing assignments.

June 1 – fall deadline to cancel housing. No refunds for fall after this date. Forms must be completed in the Student Affairs office in Medaille Hall.

August 1 – fall semester deadline for medical history form with immunization information due in the Department of Residential Life.

December 1 – spring semester deadline for housing application contract, housing security deposit, medical history form with immunization information due in the Department of Residential Life to receive priority housing assignments.
